First edition. The book is firmly bound in the publisher’s purple cloth, lettered in gilt, the extremities are slightly bumped and rubbed, neat repairs have been made to damage at the top and bottom of the spine, which is slightly faded, and there are some minor marks. The text block is toned, dusty and slightly foxed, there are repairs to both gutters and some minor marks. O’Donnell’s first published work, a novel of sorts, begins with a graphic and horrific description of a suicide, followed by an equally horrific sojourn in a place resembling hell or purgatory, before our antihero is sent back to earth to corrupt the souls of the living in a series of “missions”. A suitably weird and supernatural debut from O’Donnell, rare as a first edition and highly entertaining.
