First edition. No. 700 of the 750 copies printed on handmade paper, out of a total edition of 1000. The book has been expertly restored: the text block has been re-sewn with repairs to the edges of some pages, the majority of the original front panel remains, also the portions which fold around, but the rest of the covers have been restored using similar paper stock. The pages are toned but for the most part clean. The first edition of Joyce’s masterpiece, an undoubted twentieth century literary highlight, or so I am regularly and hopefully reliably informed; to my shame I have never ventured beyond the first few pages, so cannot corroborate these assertions of its greatness.
