First edition. The book is firmly bound in the publisher’s two tone pink and red cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt, the boards are clean though the spine is a little faded and the corners and spine ends are slightly bumped. The text block is toned, slightly foxed and musty, but free from inscriptions. Described as a novel, but it is distinctly episodic and bears more resemblance to a connected collection of short stories, some supernatural, with a little vampiric activity thrown in for good measure. Quite uncommon as a first edition and this is an unusually good example.
