Product Description

First edition. The book is firmly bound in clean, slightly faded and bumped, dark green cloth, lettered and illustrated in gilt and blind. The text block is slightly toned and foxed. An uncommon collection of stories, set in India in the time of the Raj, involving a bandit who takes pleasure in stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, and is also a dab hand at a dramatic escape from the authorities, it is also refreshingly critical at points of the mis-use of Colonial power, suggesting that Kesho Naik is perhaps an inevitable product of the system.
